Ripples of Self follows a small circle of goldfinches as they move around a floating cluster of irises, thistles, and roots. In the water below, their reflections subtly shift—two birds even appear as different genders in their mirrored selves, hinting at a more fluid inner identity. The native plants and exposed wood grain root the piece in place while opening a space for quiet introspection.

This painting reflects on how perception shapes who we are, and how the natural world can mirror those inner questions back to us.
