PARTNERS

Sharing work with the public is only part of the mission—community outreach, conservation, and education remain central to the practice.

Collaboration with Art into Acres, an artist-founded nonprofit dedicated to large-scale land conservation, has been an important part of this work for many years. Through donated works, direct financial contributions, and project involvement, this partnership has supported climate resilience, biodiversity, and Indigenous stewardship, helping protect ecologically vital landscapes.

Alongside this, the practice also engages with conservation efforts at local and regional scales as capacity allows. The form and focus of this support may evolve over time, guided by the same commitment to scientific rigor, care for place, and long-term ecological responsibility.

At the California Academy of Sciences, co-leading Unlocked Art Lab—a multi-year public program developed with artist Isabella Kirkland and curator Jack Dumbacher—created a platform for exploring the intersection of art and science, fostering dialogue between scientists, artists, and the public.

This commitment extends to younger audiences through the illustration of two children’s books that celebrate biodiversity and inspire ecological awareness among young readers and their families. These projects, along with public speaking engagements and collaborations with conservation organizations, form part of an ongoing effort to use art in service of ecological care.

By creating work that resonates across disciplines, generations, and communities, the practice seeks not only to document the natural world, but also to help shape a cultural shift toward its preservation.
