A large-scale depiction of a Great Blue Heron in flight, this mural explores the expressive potential of gesture and movement beyond the boundaries of traditional panel painting.

In 2021, a long-held vision took form in the creation of a monumental mural depicting a Great Blue Heron in flight. Installed along a sweeping staircase at a private Bay Area location, the work captures the grace and power of the bird’s expansive wingspan as it ascends.

The project offered an opportunity to explore scale, movement, and architectural integration beyond the intimacy of panel painting. Special thanks to assistant Ellie Ganey for her invaluable support throughout the process.
