In 2021, I realized a long-held dream of painting a massive bird, creating a monumental depiction of a Great Blue Heron in flight. The mural ascends a sweeping staircase at a private location in the Bay Area, its outstretched wings echoing the sense of movement and grace these birds embody. This work allowed me to explore scale and gesture in a way that expands beyond the confines of my panel paintings.
