The Five Elements explore universal themes of renewal, survival, identity, and transformation through the lens of sacred geometry and ecological observation. Inspired by the Platonic solids and the classical elements—Fire, Earth, Air, Water, and Aether— Bozic builds luminous, surreal worlds where native flora and fauna embody the cycles of life. Each painting fuses scientific fieldwork with imaginative possibility: a Black-backed Woodpecker forages in a burned forest; a Kit Fox and Kangaroo Rat navigate desert survival; a warbler sings of hope as a garter snake hides in shadow; octopuses and lumpsuckers swirl in frozen tides; and moths and arachnids search for connection in darkness. Balancing precise detail with ethereal light, this series invites viewers to reflect on the fragility and resilience of natural systems, and to consider their own place within these ever-changing networks.
